SHREWSBURY SALE 2024
Topping the “Blue Genes” sale at Shrewsbury Market was a lovely dark blue roan heifer from John & Yvonne
Hopkins in the form of Delhorn Truly Scrumptious.
Standing Reserve Female Champion, she was a heifer from
the Solway View Nancy/Tweeddale Ironman flush and
found a new home with C T Akrigg, Skipton, for 4,100gns.
The same buyer also purchased Delhorn Twilight Zone
from the same stable. This one was from the Bedgebury
Flat Out/Delhorn Light My Fire flush and realised
3,400gns.
The pre-sale show was judged by John O’Kell of the
Birdswood Herd, who placed Trencrom Simba as his
Champion. This March 2022 born bull is by Chatham
Magnus out of the homebred Trencrom Moxie but left the
ring unsold.
Topping the bulls, was Trencrom Swinton again from Gail
Ellis. This powerful son of Chatham Magnus was out of
Trencrom Nisteria, herself a Tamhorn Sumo daughter. The
successful purchaser was W Griffiths & Son, Abergele for
3,600gns.
The Reserve Male Champion, Rhymil Superdry, from Rhys
Millichap sold for 3,500gns. This mobile, blue & white son
of Cromwell Fendt found a new home with C & F M
Percival, Bakewell.
Two heifers sold for 3,000 gns, both from the Gail Ellis,
firstly, Trencrom Sandy, a Ministre Du Bouchelet daughter
and secondly Sea Holly, a daughter of Ballydangan
Hectare. Mr G L Potter from Stratford-upon-Avon purchased
both.
