NACC Training and Development Forum 2017
4 – 6 October 2017
East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham
2017
4 – 6 October
Large numbers of members, sponsors and exhibitors attended the NACC Training and Development Forum 2017; a clear indication of the popularity and importance of this outstanding event. Bev Puxley reports on the event that saw learning, networking, socialising and inspiration in perfect balance.

I have attended every conference and Training and Development Forum (TDF) since the ABSSC held the event at Southampton during Roger Denton’s Chairmanship. For me, the 2017 TDF will go down as one of the best and a fitting celebration of thirty years of achievement.
WEDNESDAY 4 OCTOBER
The rst half day got underway with the ‘Meet the Buyer’ session, hotly followed by a well-attended and well-run Annual General Meeting. On a personal note, I felt very proud to be associated with the NACC when listening to the national chair, Neel Radia, reporting on events and achievements over the past year.
The ‘warm-up’ event on the rst evening celebrated the NACC’s 30th Birthday with the theme ‘Stars of the 80s’. It’s clear to me that a requirement for anyone working in or alongside care catering is the willingness to dress up and let their hair down when the occasion permits.
Once again, Billie Moore and her team from McCullough Moore pulled out all the stops to present a venue with décor themed beautifully to suit the occasion. The food, the drinks and the music of the decade underpinned the fun that everyone enjoyed. I never imagined back then that I would, one day, wax lyrical about cheese and pineapple on sticks, chicken Kiev, nut cutlet or Arctic roll. I heard that the team at McCullough Moore had been working for months on the event. Well done!
