11 Larkfield Road
Frederick Arthur Bruin – Owner of 11 Larkfield Road
From when 11 Larkfield Road (originally known as 12 Larkfield Road) was built, through to the early 20th Century, the house was owned by a gentleman by the name of Frederick Arthur Bruin. In addition to owning 11 Larkfield Road, Frederick Arthur Bruin also owned numbers 5,7,9,14 and 20 Larkfield Road.
Frank Clement Goodall – Naval Architect
Frank Clement Goodall and his wife Eliza moved into what at this point in history was still known as 12 Larkfield Road in the late 1880s. Born at Bembridge on the Isle of Wight on 3 January 1856, Frank Clement Goodall worked as a naval architect. 19th Century documents stated that he was based at Trinity House,Tower Hill in the city of London.
A nephew of Frank Clement Goodall, known as Jack Goodall (1892-1980), later moved to Chile where he later became a leading ornithologist and has been described as “one of three pioneers of modern Chilean ornithology.”
In 1916, Frank Clement Goodall’s total effects were listed as four thousand five hundred and seventy pounds, and seven- teen shillings.
