Ed helmed the outstanding 2 x 90’
period thriller for Hilary Bevan Jones and the BBC, ‘Restless’; William Boyd’s adaptation of his 2006 novel and starring Charlotte Rampling, Michelle Dockery, Hayley Atwell and Rufus Sewell which was a five-star smash Christmas 2012.
He has just finished post on season two of ‘The Durrells’ for Sally Wood- ward-Gentle/ITV (the season began
on ITV recently), before which he directed the ‘Tommy & Tuppence’ series for Hilary Bevan Jones/BBC based on Agatha Christie’s ‘Partners in Crime’ and an episode of the fourth series of ‘Downton Abbey’ for Carnival/NBCU.
Other notable TV work includes
‘Miss Marple-Sleeping Murder’; ‘Cutting Edge: Safari Strife’ and ‘Richard lll’, multiple episodes of ‘Spooks’ (Series 7 to 9), as well as ‘Strikeback’ for LeftBank/Sky, ‘Kingdom’ for Parallel Films/ITV and ‘Trial & Retribution’ for Le Plante/ITV.
Feature-wise Ed is attached to the adaptation of Noel Coward’s ‘BLITHE SPIRIT’ by Nick Moorcroft & Piers Ashworth for Peter Snell/BRITISH LION, but it is as Artistic Director of Hamp- stead Theatre where his productions include ‘Wonderland’, ‘Raving’, ‘No Naughty Bits’, ‘Loyalty and Enlighten- ment’, ‘Chariots of Fire’ and ‘Sunny Afternoon’, that Ed has made his name.
Ed’s theatre credits don’t stop there either; his work as AD of Propeller Theatre Co has toured worldwide, played the West End and Broadway (as well as regular seasons at Hampstead) and has won numerous Awards both in the UK and overseas.
Other Broadway productions include ‘Rose Rage’ and ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ starring Natasha Richardson and John Reilly.
