The rst OmniSite product, this XR50 was a collaboration of Tom Ward and Telemetric Corp of Boise, Idaho. It was
a 10-channel alarm monitor that was powered by Aeris.
net (Dbl-chck spelling) MicroBurst cellular technology, and reported its data to the OmniSite website. We were a cloud- based company before the term “cloud” was ever used in the industry. We only sold about 40 XR50s in the rst year, and
we seriously considered whether we had made a mistake making this product. It was “too foreign” to conservative utility customers.
