WE ARE OMNISITE
Within the tidy, nondescript, brick building that fronts West Morris Street in the city’s Old Southside neighborhood, “OmniSite is a small engineering rm that creates and sells cellular boxes that can send sensory data back to Web portals,” explains Gage Wilkinson, our product development engineer.
But to a good number of engineering students, Boy Scouts, neighborhood youth, and parishioners of a nearby church, the company is known more for its generosity and giving spirit more than its state-of-the-art monitoring equipment.
Wilkinson rst learned of OmniSite
a couple years ago as a Rose-Hulman student in the school’s Ventures program. Ventures connects students with companies that have engineering work opportunities and budgets
to pay them. Wilkinson worked at OmniSite before he graduated.
