OFFENSE
QB: Spencer Rattler, Pinnacle (class of 2019). The state’s career leading passer.
RB: Ka’Deem Carey, Canyon del Oro (2011). Rushed for 5,701 HS career yards, University of Arizona’s career leading rusher, Chicago Bears 4thround pick in 2014 and current member of Calgary Stampeders.
RB: Bijan Robinson, Salpointe (2020). Rushing totals from sophomore to senior season: 2,023, 2,400, 2,235.
OL: Austin Jackson, North Canyon (2017). The Miami Dolphins drafted the USC product 18th overall in 2020.
OL: Andrus Peat, Corona del Sol (2012). A two- time Pro Bowl selection for the Saints, who drafted him in the 1st round in 2015.
C: Cyrus Hobbi, Saguaro (2011). The former USC Trojan was the highest rated center to play in AZ in the past decade.
OL: Tosh Baker, Pinnacle (2020). One of the nation’s top-ranked tackles in his class. Cur- rently a freshman left tackle for University of Notre Dame.
OL: Christian Westerman, Hamilton (2011). A fifth round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016, Westerman was an Under Armour All-American and played for the University of Auburn and Arizona State.
TE: Mark Andrews, Scottsdale Desert Moun- tain (2014). Represented the Baltimore Ravens in the 2019 Pro Bowl. Led the state in receiv- ing yards in 2012.
WR: N’Keal Harry, Chandler (2016). First round pick of the New England Patriots in 2019.
WR: Christian Kirk, Saguaro (2015). The former 2015 SEC Freshman of the Year is in his third season with the Arizona Cardinals.
DEFENSE
DL: Alex Barrett, Mesa Desert Ridge (2012). The former San Diego State captain became the school’s first defensive lineman to earn multiple All-Mountain West honors.
DL: Brett Johnson, Desert Vista (2019). Last year, Pro Football Focus named the Cal DT to its Freshman All-American Thurd Team.
DL: Hamilcar Rashed Jr., Chandler (2016). Led the nation in 2019 with 22.5 tackles for loss for Oregon State, a school record.
DL: Garrett Rand, Hamilton (2016). The Uni- versity of Wisconsin player was a 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl participant.
LB: Blake Martinez, Oro Valley Canyon del Oro (2012). Currently with the Giants, he led the NFL in tackles in 2017 when he was with the Green Bay Packers. Also led the Packers in tackles in 2018 and 2019.
LB: Wesley Payne, Mountain Pointe (2014). Led state in tackles with 170 in 2012 as a Jr. LB: Dedrick Young, Peoria Centennial (2015). He is the only player in University of Nebraska history to collect 60-plus tackles in each of his four seasons as a starter.
DB: Byron Murphy, Saguaro (2016). The 2018 Pac-12 Football Championship game MVP was the 33rd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
DB: Isaiah Pola-Mao, Mountain Pointe (2017). The current starting free safety for USC, Pola-Mao tallied 100 tackles his senior season and 21 career interceptions at Mt. Pointe.
DB: Kelee Ringo, Saguaro (2020). Enrolled
at the University of Georgia as the top-rated corner in his senior national class.
SS: Zach Hoffpauir, Centennial (2012). One of the more inspirational prep leaders to play in Arizona.
SPECIAL TEAMS
ATH: D.J. Foster, Saguaro (2012). An NFL player since 2016, he holds the state record
in rushing touchdowns (54), rushing TDs in a game (10) and points in a game (60).
Kicker: Brandon Ruiz, Gilbert Williams Field (2017). The current Arizona State kicker and U.S. Army All-American booted a 58-yarder while at Williams Field.
Long snapper: Slater Zellers, Notre Dame (2018). The Cal player was the top-rated long snapper in his senior class and the best ever high school long snapper Kohl’s Professional Camps had evaluated up to that point.
Punter: Parker Lewis, Saguaro (2020). The
USC freshman was a First-Team All American by maxpreps, Rivals and USA Today as a place kicker.
Return specialist: Jake Smith, Notre Dame (2019). The 2018 National FB Gatorade Player of the Year was the starting punt returner
last year for the University of Texas, when he scored the second-most touchdowns ever by a Texas freshman.
COACHES/PLAYERS OF THE DECADE
Big School (4-6A) Player of the Decade: Spencer Rattler, Pinnacle (2019). In the conversation for the best quarterback to attend an Arizona High School. Big School Coach of the Decade: Jason Mohns, Saguaro. Went 97-12 overall and 6-1 in title games. Small School (2-3A) Player of the Decade: Gage Reese (2020), Yuma Catholic. The 3A state record holder in TD passes in a game (9, tied with three others), TD passes in a season (all-conference high 64), career TD passes (133), passing yards in a game (609), passing yards in a season (4,661), and career passing yards (10,621).
Small School Coach of the Decade: Dave Inness, Northwest Christian. Won three state titles, two state runner-ups, reached eight semifinals and had a 109-21 record.
8-man Player of the Decade: Israel Loveall (2018), Bagdad. Set the 8-man national record with 167 career touchdown passes and career passing yards (9,289). He also holds the 1A state record for TD passes (59) and passing yards (3,479) in a season. 8-man Coach of the Decade: Dalton Mills, Bagdad. Went 72-13, won two titles, one runner-up and reached six semifinals in eight seasons.
