Strengths of offense: Returning QB Sam Terpstra has a better understanding of system and is a leader. Skill players returning. We have talented receivers with better understanding of system. Improvement with our line, with experience and new players with a little more size. Returning Jr. RB Valenzuela is in his 2nd year of football and has better knowledge of game and is tough and quick.
Strengths of defense: Better understanding of the game, reads, techniques. Improved speed. Addition of LB coach Mooberry.
Team’s biggest questions marks: With restrictions due to COVID-19, we have new players that are behind with not being able to do spring football as normal. While we have more players, we still lack numbers and size.
2020 expectations: Keep building, better execution and understanding the big picture. Improved passing game with talented QB and receivers. Improved de- fense. Less points allowed. Capitalize on 3rd and 4th downs.
More about program: We were a young team and have young players this year as well, however, we have a good core group of returning players, especially at the skill positions. If we can give our QB time and block for RB, we can put up some points. Defense needs to step up this year. A big part of our defense is getting more players so we have less players playing both ways.
