It has been a legendary run at Northland Prepa- ratory Academy for head girls soccer coach Michael Blair’s daughter, Mia.
With wins in the state semifinal and championship games Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7, at Coronado High School in Scottsdale, the Spartans’ senior striker would hoist her fourth 2A state girls soccer title tro- phy in four years.
Finding a way to prevent this coronation will be their semifinal opponent, Show Low High School; East Region champion St. Johns High School; and the only team to have defeated the Spartans since 2017, Chino Valley High School.
As the play-in games Tuesday, Nov. 3, went chalk for the third- and fourth-seeded Cougar teams from Show Low and Chino Valley, any November surprise may need to come from the experienced bag of tricks of their head coaches: Show Low’s Chris Ellis, Chino Valley’s Allen Foster or Redskins head coach Paul Otto.
Going into the state semifinal, Mia Blair has 93 goals and 287 points her her career. (Northland Prep photo)
