Q&A with Dr. Olsen
How early should children get braces?
There really is no hard-and-fast rule about when children could or should get braces. We recommend bringing your child in for a complimentary consultation as early as age 6. This will give us the opportunity to evaluate the development of your child’s mouth, look for any potential difficulties and be ready to initiate treatment when the time is right.
I’ve heard of a two-phase treatment. What is that?
A two-phase orthodontic treatment is an approach we use to prepare for the physical changes in the teeth and jaw that occur as a child ages. The first phase targets specific areas of the mouth, creating the space needed to allow adult teeth to come in properly. Once those teeth have come in, the second phase of treatment—usually involving the addition of upper and/or lower braces—then begins to move teeth and jaws into their correct places.
Does Olsen Orthodontics accept insurance?
Yes. We work with most major insurance plans to ensure you have the ability to capture any orthodontic benefit. We also offer interest-free, in-house financing allowing you to make monthly payments on any amount not covered by your insurance provider.
