SCHA hosts the Sonoma County Herb Exchange, a clearinghouse of top quality, locally grown medicinal herbs. All
herbs are grown according to organic protocol. We hold FREE educational events monthly (3rd Wed. of the Month Speaker Series) and host plant sales and other plant-based gatherings throughout the year. The Friends of Vintage Roses work to preserve one of the largest collections of old roses in America. We work with curators around the country providing them with propagation material so that this horticultural resource is not lost. At our garden in Sebastopol we propagate some of the rarest roses, which will be
for sale at our May event in Sonoma County (May 9), at the Celebration of Old Roses in Albany (May 17) and at the Heirloom Expo in Santa Rosa (Sept 15-17). Join us monthly in Sebastopol at “Dirt Days,” Mar. thru Nov. . We are preserving Sonoma County’s unique historic trove of roses—roses rescued from farmsteads, highways and cemeteries in this beautiful, rural landscape.
