The other day, we felt such an
intense need to leave our seclusion for sea air and French fries, so decided to take a drive to the coast.
    Buttery Crab Sandwich
Even though parking at any of the beaches, to sink our toes into the sand, or go tide-pooling at Shell Beach was impossible, the drive was heavenly. The sky was an intense cerulean and the water was every shade of blue from aqua-marine to a deep purple, and I felt like one of those happy dogs with their head out the car window, ears flapping in the breeze.

When we drove through Bodega Bay, we were overjoyed to find that The Boat House was offering take- out. Fries to the rescue, to assuage my cravings!
Sitting in the car, eating our fries was the best mini-vacation I have had for a while. Thank you, Sophia, for your long-standing service to the community, with your unforgettable food and being open for take-out.
If you have not stopped at The Boat House in the past, you will not be disappointed when you do grace this delightful little restaurant with your presence. Besides their delectable fries, the fish and chips, fish sandwich and other sea food items on the menu are outstanding.
You can always know a good place to eat when the natives flock to it, and The Boat House, when open during normal times, is almost always packed with local fans.

When we are not doing take-
out, eating at home is an ongoing adventure in cooking. Using the herbs and other plants from our garden nourishes and feeds our body, mind and soul.
About a year ago we started growing watercress, akin to the taste of arugula with its peppery and pungent flavor; easy to grow, one of nature’s superfoods and lovely for grazing on.
As opportunities for eating out have evoled to take-out only, a new surge of gardening and gracing our table with what we can grow ourselves
