Hike with Naturalist on Sunday, July 21:
Butterflies & Dragonflies & Lake Ecosystem
It’s butterfly and dragonfly season and they are plentiful this year. Is it because of the wet winter providing more food sources? Discover where and what is flying around, and learn more about the lake habitats and connections to nature around water. Follow Volunteer Interpretive Naturalist John Lynch from the Parktrail Drive trailhead up and around Lake Ilsanjo (approximately 5 miles round trip).
Be ready to depart at 9 AM from the Parktrail Drive Trail Head. The route will include approximately 250 foot elevation gain over about 5 miles of varied trails in a leisurely exploration and a stop for lunch. Wear hiking shoes, layers appropriate for weather, bring water and lunch. Trekking poles recommended. Some trails are rocky and uneven. There are NO restrooms or water in the parking area. There is a restroom near the lake. Dogs are not allowed.
