Included in Alberta’s Climate Leadership plan is a Renewable Electricity Program (REP) that will involve a competitive process to procure Renewable energy.
A smart, planned investment in community-scale renewable energy will lead to several benefits:
• Diversifying and greening the existing energy supply
• Creating jobs, investments, and profits for the community
• Securing stable, modernized, community-owned energy infrastructure
Communities will benefit working with renewable energy developers to assist with the complex regulatory, financing and general management of the construction
