Mash-Lauder Tun: A double jacked tank equipped with a raking arm that mixes barley and water together producing a sweet barley water that distillers call wash. The tun has a slot- ted metal false bottom allowing the wash to be separated (drain away) from the grains. It is then sent on to fermentation. The mash-tun rakes now push the grain out of the ton and sent for disposal (pig or cattle farm). Finally, spray balls are used to clean the tun.
