I love what I do, but at times, I feel overextended
because we’re so understaffed. It can feel like climbing
a mountain, and I know residents aren’t getting the
care they deserve. Time can be of the essence, and
sometimes, we don’t have enough people to react
quickly – or we only have one person when a situation
requires two of us. It just makes what we do extremely
difficult. Residents need more help than just receiving
one-on-one care. They have so many needs and
deserve quality care. I stay in it because
I love the residents, but we need
more staff – immediately.
