     Grammar
   1
Noun phrase + も: ‘X, too’ も、 です。
1. 「やまだ」は、なまえです。「たなか」も、なまえです。 “Yamada” is a name. “Tanaka,” too, is a name.
2. やまださんは、がくせいです。たなかさんも、がくせいです。 “Mr./Ms. Yamada is a student. Mr./Ms. Tanaka is also a student.”
も attaches to a separate thing or person. You cannot use も in the same way to translate “teacher, too” in the sentence “(Ms. Yamada is a graduate student.) She is a teacher, too.” because “a teacher” here is not a separate thing or a separate person.
2 Using a name in place of the 2nd person pronoun “you”
1. 「やまださんは、がくせいですか。」「はい、がくせいです。」 “Are you a student, Ms. Yamada?” “Yes, I am.”
2. 「たなかさんも、がくせいですか。」「はい、そうです。」 “Are you a student, too, Ms. Tanaka?” “Yes, I am.”
あなた ‘you’ is not very frequently used. Also, you may not use it to refer to your teacher or someone older than you.
