THE MIDAS TOUCH – ONLINE COLLABORATIVE COMPETITION
GEMS Our Own English High School, Dubai takes great pleasure in presenting the Inter- School ‘Online Collaborative Competition - ‘The MIDAS Touch’ organized as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations. We strongly believe that in ‘Chasing Excellence with Passion’, one can achieve greater heights and address challenges to improve the world we live in. Being part of the GEMS group, we change lives through education, by impacting 10 million children globally. Stimulating children through education, changing lives and extending their horizons by going beyond their classroom is our challenge. Our Chairman Mr Sunny Varkey and CEO Mr Dino Varkey - GEMS Education, feel very strongly about being driven by a singular purpose, i.e. to have quality education within the reach of every student.This inspired us at GEMS OOD for the chosen topic.We had nine GEMS schools who collaborated with us and participated in this Media Competition “Making Education Accessible to all” A short film on educating the world about access to education denied, and how you will make that change. Judging was held in the Conference Room from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Panel of Judges comprised: Ms. Christine De Noronha - Vice Principal - GEMS New Millennium School, Mr. Karan Deep - Innovation Manager – GEMSx, Ms. Asha Sanjay - School Digital Transformation - GEMS Education.
The GEMS Xhibit was held at the Emirates Towers on the 25th of September 2018. 3 Teams from OOD were selected to interact with top Companies and professionals. The Minister of Artificial Intelligence, His Excellency Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, spoke to all of our students. Each student was given a chance to be interviewed by Oliv (The UAE’s leading youth employment and career portal)
