Rocky’s Diamond Gallery offers excellent quality jewellery collections that include the magnificent Cayman Sea Life Collection, made from Alexandrite, a stone with an illustrious history. Initially discovered in the emerald mines of Russia’s
Ural region, it is said that this relatively young gemstone was named after the Russian Tsar Alexander at his coming of
age celebration. Originally mistaken for an emerald because
of its unusual teal green hue in daylight, the stone magically transforms to an alluring red when taken under an incandescent light. The colours of red and green were the prominent colors of old Imperial Russia, and so the legend was born. Prized for its natural ability to shift colours based on its exposure to a variety of different lights, the finest quality of alexandrite is scarce and very rare.
Each of the pieces within the Cayman Sea Life Collection at Rocky’s has been artistically and immaculately made by the Mark Henry Alexandrite Jewellery Collection, with each piece set in 18k gold with diamond accents.
Alexandrites are birth stones for the month of June. Each
