Camana Bay
The town marks two milestones this year: its tenth anniversary and the introduction of OLEA, the first for-sale residential neighbourhood in Camana Bay. Located at the south end of the town, the homes in OLEA provide a new place to live in addition to The Terraces – Camana Bay’s in-demand for-rent apartments on the harbourfront.
The name ‘OLEA’ is named for a family of trees that is perpetually fragrant, fruitful and green. Ranging from one-bedroom condos to four-bedroom townhomes, the
development will be built with the principles of New Urbanism in mind – the same principles on which Camana Bay was designed and brought to life a decade ago.
New Urbanism represents a few primary concepts: building a sense of community, developing environmentally friendly and sustainable practices and offering a pedestrian- friendly town where all needs can be met within walking distance. These might include visiting the doctor’s office, going to work or school,
picking up groceries, getting a haircut, exercising, seeing a movie, doing some shopping or going for a meal – all things that can be enjoyed at Camana Bay. Importance is also placed on celebrating Caymanian history and culture, with nods to Cayman-style architecture and the use of local flora in the landscaping.
Camana Bay has a thriving office community housing leading financial, legal and technology firms in almost 700,000 square feet of Class A commercial space, more than 40 shops and boutiques, and 15 cafes, eateries and restaurants. The town also offers attractions that draw locals and visitors alike and will serve as key amenities for residents. Must-visit spots include the 75-foot Observation Tower, boasting a floor-to-ceiling tile mosaic mural depicting an underwater scene, and an interactive fountain, in which children can play, overlooking the stunning North Sound. Camana Bay Harbour serves not only as the departure point for visitors to take charters to the eastern side of the island or to world-famous attractions such as Stingray City, but also offers day and overnight docking for those travelling in their own boats. A ferry service to popular Rum Point and Kaibo Yacht Club also departs from the town’s marina.
At OLEA, many homes will be waterfront, offering the opportunity for residents to simply hop on their boat and enter the North Sound via the Camana Bay Harbour. Residents can also walk to West Bay Road and Seven Mile beach via the Rise, a stunning landscaped footpath that offers opportunities to linger and enjoy the views or simply a direct path to walk or cycle from the Caribbean Sea to the North Sound.
Camana Bay was developed by Dart Real Estate, an architect of lifestyle and a leading developer of residential, resort and commercial properties in the Cayman Islands. While OLEA is the first for-sale residential project at Camana Bay, interested buyers can learn more about Dart Real Estate’s portfolio of successful projects on Grand Cayman including The Residences at Seafire located on Seven Mile Beach.
