MORE THAN WORDS | November 2024 3 VINTNERS’ LUNCH 2024 - SPRING SPLENDOUR
On 15th September, we held our 16th annual Vintners’ Lunch with a Spring Splendour theme. We are thrilled to announce that the event raised $251,274, which will greatly benefit our patients and their whānau.
The day was a vibrant celebration, featuring enchanting entertainment by a harpist, lively performances by the Beat Girls, a live band, and dancers. Guests enjoyed both a silent auction and an exciting live auction, and indulged in a delicious six-course menu, showcasing the vibrant flavours of spring. It was wonderful to see so many attendees in bright, colourful spring outfits, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, attended, or volunteered. We deeply appreciate the support from our Major Sponsors: Above Focus, Gee & Hickton Funeral Directors, Jarvis Plumbing + Gasworks, and King Toyota.
Special thanks to our other supporters, the talented chefs, MC Mark Sainsbury, and Auctioneer Ian Klinac from Sotheby’s International Realty. A shout out also to Brady Dyer Photography for capturing the day and to all those who donated prizes. Your generosity is truly appreciated.

OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY
Carers and patients navigating an end-of-life journey often find it comforting and grounding to hold on to something, so we provide stones, shells, wooden holding crosses and knitted hearts for this purpose.
The knitted hearts fit beautifully into the palm of one’s hand and the softness provides support, warmth and comfort for people. We are deeply grateful for our collaboration with volunteers and the local knitters’ group who recently knitted 200 hearts for our hospice. Their support means we can offer our spiritual and bereavement support in this meaningful way.
