Bronzino
Bronzino is a British manufacturer established in 2005 by Scottish sculptor & designer Kenneth Topp. He completed a BA in sculpture at Edinburgh & an MA in Public Art & Design at Chelsea. In Edinburgh he studied bronze casting under the famous Italo/Scottish master bronze founder George Mancini.
Kenneth continued to make art while based in New York, mainly sculptural pieces with functional content then in Britain experimented with garden design completing several London gardens. Designs for exterior space led to metalwork & container design. An admirer of the arts & craftsmovement hisplanterdesignsreflectartisan philopsphy.(Bronzinowastheassumedname ofan artist & poet at the court of the Medici, whose enigmatic work remains much admired today)
The Bronzino workshop began with an interpretation of the riveted cauldron used across Europe for boiling water & in Edwardian times re purposed as a planter by garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. Basins, Ribbed planters & sculptural pieces followed.
Now in its 19th year of production Bronzino is known for classic planters made entirely by hand from solid sheets of re cycled copper, brass & zinc with a range of traditional foundry finishes. From warm copper bronze,
mellow hues of Verdigris through softer greys of zinc.
Designed for use inside and out Bronzino containers are relatively light yet strong enough to hold trees and shrubs, ideal for locations where weight may be an issue, such as roof terraces, balconies & yachts. Hidden wheels are optional for custom orders. Stock is always available. Larger sizes can be ordered.
Stylish and versatile their use extends beyond the display of plants – to log bins, fountains, tables, lighting and storage. The basins often used as water features. The sculptural vase are beautiful on their own right and uplifting with arrangements of spring blossom or handy for umbrellas. Bronzino works with Architects & Designers worldwide.
Bronzino planters & vase are placed in many historic houses, gardens & museums around the world, also hospitality destinations such as Claridges, several Rocco Forte Hotels, also The Endsleigh, The Tresanton, Hyatt, Gleneagles, The Kempton Fitzroy, The Mayfair, Annabels, Nomad London, Heckfield Place, Spring Restaurant, The Monumental Palace Porto, Hotel Maria Cristina San Sebastian, The Storchen Zurich, Beaverbrook Townhouse & Firmdale Hotels both in UK & USA.
