Our concept for the new Head- quareters is the discovery of an origi- nal place. It is the invention of forgot- ten paradigm. The JHD Headquarters is at home within its surrounding urban setting and enhancess the town of Al Balad.
In contrast to current practice with its emphasis on machine like object buildings designed in isolation from both place, his- tory or context., our proposal for for the JHD Headquarters demonstrates an inter- est in uniqueness of place and culture and in the continuity of urban form.
The new proposal unfoldes around new public square that is formed by the nin- teenth century Beit Al balad building sur- rounded by Roshan tower houses.
