Hedgewood Residence is a hilly wooded neigh- bourhood of Hoggs Hollow in Toronto. The actual site is on commanding cliff with a view of Toronto’s down- town.
The building’s design has a strong presence that reflects the robust composition of hieratically arranged volumes along with North/South access. Architecturally it is a combination of Tudor/vernacular language with some more contemporary accents. That is particularly expressed in garden Rotonda which houses the main kitchen. Its minimalistic design, light and transparent combination of marble, glass and stainless steel is in striking contrast with the strength and weight of local limestone.
There is also an extensive basement with squash court, wine cellar and garage for a vintage car collec- tion and parking space for five cars.
External grounds will be beautifully landscaped with two formal wall gardens, pavilions, terraces, loggia and passageway.
