A Loving Grandma
Gail Boston was born in Everett, Washington, is 64 years old and currently lives in Bow, Washington. She was one of nine children, very busy children. All throughout her life, she has been through many difficult things. When she was about 18 months old, she had asthma and she had to sleep in her parents closet just to make sure she slept ok.
I chose to honor my grandma because she is thoughtful and outgoing. Throughout her life she has lost one of her brothers, a sister, and even her mother, all in a couple years. That was really tough for her, but she always gets over it. Whenever Gail feels down or in a bad mood, she always has my mom at her side. When her two kids Daemon and Carly graduated high school, she was very happy for them both. She was a little worried that Daemon would not graduate, but he did. She was very proud of both of them.
Today she is retired, and only works part time for the school district, before she retired, she worked there for 27 years! Everyday she thinks about how to find the good in the day to guide her throughout the week. Gail’s strongest desire is to find happiness in whatever happens and to trust and rely on God to guide her. She continues to wish that all people will live in peace and learn to live in the way of God.
She is a christian who loves life and is always happy. Around her she hears christian music and her dogs barking. She says she sees how sad the world is right now, but also she sees the many beautiful things there are that are natural, like the beauty of the outdoors. The most important things to her are family and having a relationship with God. Today she now understands how to trust God with her whole heart.
Her one piece of advice to generation “x” is to work hard! The advice she got from her dad was to always say yes as much as you can when it comes to parenting. She says “For Heaven’s sake!” a lot, and her grandkids say that a lot, too, but just to tease her.
I chose to honor Gail because she is a friendly and considerate person. She is always welcoming and happy, I really like that about her. She really likes to make jewelry in her free time; I really like how creative she is. I really enjoy being around her and I am glad that she is my grandma! I am so glad I get to honor such a special person!
