US federal legislation advances new language trending toward true “health” care and health promotion including occurrence of the following terms: integrative (12), integrative health (10), integrative health care (5), health promotion (37), wellness (98), complementary and alternative (2), and “CAM” (1). Provisions including this language are passed as part of the Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act (PPACA, a.k.a.

“ObamaCare”) specifically: Sec. 3502. Establishing Community Health Teams To Support The Patient- Centered Medical Home, including licensed “CAM” practitioners in Medical Homes; Sec. 4001. National Prevention, Health Promotion And Public Health Council, includes integrative health care practitioners in prevention strategies; Sec. 4206. Demonstration Project Concerning Individualized Wellness Plan, includes dietary supplements in individualized wellness plans; Sec. 5101. National Health Care Workforce Commission, authorizes licensed complementary and alternative providers and integrative practitioners in workforce planning; Sec. 6301. Patient-Centered Outcomes Research, establishes comparative clinical effectiveness research through Patient Centered Comparative Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). (IHPC and others work with Sen.
