LEGISLATION AND PUBLIC POLICY

On September 10, Congress adopts US Senate Resolution 221 Naturopathic Medicine Week Resolution defining naturopathic care as “safe, effective, primary care.” Bipartisan effort by Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Sen. Angus King (I-MN), Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA), and Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D- MD). 113TH CONGRESS 1ST SESSION S. RES. 221 designates the week of October 7 through October 13, 2013 as ‘‘Naturopathic Medicine Week’’ to recognize the value of naturopathic medicine in providing health care, urging Americans to learn more about naturopathic medicine.
