Edward Alstat, ND, RPh, (d. 2018), herbal pioneer, publisher, and organic farmer; founded Eclectic Institute at NUNM Medicinary in 1982, later relocated to large organic farm in Sandy, OR; awarded Presidential Citation from AANP. Presented with five NUNM President’s Medallion awards for contribution to the school and the profession; inducted into the NUNM Hall of Fame for his role in the advancement of natural medicine’s reputation. Gérard Guéniot, MD (b. 1946, d. 2006) Born in France, moved to Belgium. Graduated from Faculty of Medicine of Lille (1982). Obtained medical degree to practice as homeopathic physician (France required). Remarkable synthetic thinker, eclectic; integrated homeopathy, miasm theory, constitutional medicine, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, botanical medicine, nutrition, color therapy, plant energy medicine, physiology of emunctories, principles and laws of nature into a unifying system of individualized natural medicine.
