AANP: Nancy Aagenes, ND, President; Cindy Phillips, ND, Speaker of the House of Delegates; AANP moves to Washington DC, managed by Association Management Group with Maria Bianchi as executive director until 2002.
AANP HOD adopts Position Paper: Foreign Trained Practitioners.
Association of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (ANPBC) changes name to College
of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC).
CNA Summit held at CCNM; included over 200 NDs, association members, staff and students to determine the direction for the naturopathic profession in Canada.
LICENSURE, EXAMINATIONS, REGULATORY, AND LICENSING BOARDS
First NABNE administration of NPLEX Part I - Basic Science Examinations and Part II - Clinical Science Examinations.
Naturopathic Consortium, led by Angela Moore, ND, develops Mutual Recognition Agreement to remove barriers for NDs practicing in one Canadian jurisdiction who wish to move to and practice in another province. Last revised 2009.
ACCREDITATION
Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) receives full accreditation from the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education.
NCNM candidacy for accreditation approved through Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).

Connecticut Board of Higher Education recognizes that University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine may offer Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) degree. James Sensenig, ND, leads effort. XXX
David Scotten, ND, becomes president of BINM until 2007.
Joseph Pizzorno, ND, retires as president of Bastyr University; appointed President Emeritus and remains on Board of Directors.
Peter Martin, DC, becomes Dean of University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM), until 2004.
The National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL renamed National University of Health Sciences (NUHS), a multidisciplinary university, re-activates charter for previously active naturopathic drugless physician program. This institution originated in 1906 in Davenport, IA, as the National School of Chiropractic, moved to Chicago, IL in 1908, and was renamed National College of Chiropractic in 1920. The separately chartered National College of Drugless Physicians offered doctor of naturopathy (ND), doctor of mechano-therapy (DM), and doctor of drugless therapy (DDT) degrees during these years from 1930 to 1952 with the last ND degree granted in 1952.
Thomas Shepherd, DHA, becomes president of Bastyr University, until 2004.
University of Western Sydney offers degree in naturopathy at a publicly funded institution.
West Coast Naturopathic Medical College in Vancouver, BC, welcomes its first class.
