Eric Jorgenson (ND candidate, NUNM) becomes president of NMSA.
Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians hosts Midwestern Regional Conference at NUHS, continues as significant annual event. NUHS faculty heavily involved.
INM inaugurates new Board, including H. Lucille, M. Cronin, T. Kruzel, S. Stark, B. Milliman, and M. Werness. Dr. Werness carried over from the founding board (1993). New bylaws drafted and approved.
INM launches Naturopathic Medicine Collaborative (NMC) at AANP Convention: profession-
wide stakeholder assembly including AANP, AANMC, state associations, specialty societies, NMSA. 42 organizations invited. By 2018, NMC communicates with 76 independent organizations across the profession. Launched by M. Simon, President and CEO, V. Campbell, P. Snider, and M. Beeson.
INM restructures for the future. Joseph Pizzorno, ND, (AANP BOD) asked (by Executive Director SueYirku) to develop on plan for INM future. Michelle Simon, ND, PhD, (AANP BOD) nominated as new INM Board chair. Simon nominates new Board, approved by AANP and existing INM Board members; M. Cronin, AANP President.
LICENSURE, EXAMINATIONS, REGULATORY, AND LICENSING BOARDS
Colorado enacts regulation for NDs. Governor John Hickenlooper signs into law the bill sponsored by Rep. Joann Ginal (D-Ft. Collins), lead sponsor, and Sen. Linda Newell (D-Littleton), Senate sponsor, with Denise Clark, ND, President of the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CoAND).
