  CALLING ALL (ETHICAL) HACKERS
A penetration tester (a.k.a., ethical hacker) probes for and then ex- ploits security vulnerabilities in web-based applications, networks, and systems. In other words, you’re paid to hack—and it’s legal! Using a series of penetration tools, some that you will design yourself, you simulate real-life cyberattacks, perhaps taking part in Red Team/ Blue Team exercises that mimic cyber warfare. Your ultimate aim is to help an organization improve its cybersecurity. Most pen testers don’t hold a specialized degree. Since ethical hacking is more about skills than course credits, a bache- lor’s or master’s degree in cyberse- curity may be unnecessary if you have the right experience.
