There is an urgent need to provide LGBTQ role models for youth and to educate the populaFon-at-large. Although enormous strides have been made, the epidemic of disenfranchised LGBTQ youth conFnues.
THE LAVENDER EFFECT’s EducaFonal Programs are at the heart of our mission. We teach the benefits of diversity and principles of empathy, as well as demys8fy human sexuality & gender iden8ty.
• Young City At War OHP features the drama8c and poignant story of West Hollywood’s early response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
•Today in LGBTQ History distributes daily facts about LGBTQ and allied history on Facebook and other social media plaNorms.
•Lavender LA Seminars illuminate Southern California’s important Pre- Stonewall role in the global LGBTQ and ally movement.
•The Student Filmmakers CompeFFon awards talented College and Middle/High School Student Filmmakers telling stories of LGBTQ history through the lens of a new genera8on.
•Out & About Tours give tourists and locals a personalized explora8on of LA’s hidden LGBTQ heritage.

who were parEcipants or witnesses to a historic event or movement in LGBTQ history. UElizing the plaEnum standards of the Shoah FoundaEon, our LGBTQ and ally tesEmonies are being produced at the highest standards possible. OHP tesEmonies are being incorporated into curriculum for California’s FAIR EducaEon Act, Diversity Training, Group Tours, Social Media, and InteracEve Exhibits.
