2018 SHORT BIO: Dr. Melissa Weathersby is a native of San Antonio, Texas. Growing
up at Randolph Air Force Base, she has always enjoyed reading and writing. Her
professional career has encompassed management, entrepreneurship, and adult
education. She was a recipient of the Who’s Who in San Antonio Top 100 Women
honor, as well as the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development
Excellence Award for higher education. She is an international author and keynote
speaker and has graced the stage at Bishop TD Jakes’ Megafest, TBN’s Praise the Lord
show, and is a highly sought-after empowerment teacher and speaker, and radio and
television guest. She is also an ordained Apostle and Pastor that wears a prophetic
mantle. Her passion is teaching, motivating, and inspiring people to become the person
God intended them to be. Melissa hosts author workshops for aspiring authors and
enjoys coaching and mentoring people in various areas such as leadership, personal
finance, career guidance, writing books, and real estate sales. Melissa is also an avid
equestrian. She enjoys riding, training, and competing in various horseback riding
competitions. Melissa successfully completed her Doctor of Education degree at
Walden University in 2018 (Dissertation topic: “The Need for Financial Literacy in Higher
Education”) with a specialization in Higher Education and Adult Learning. She has an
MBA from Webster University. She is currently an adjunct instructor at San Antonio
College and teaches real estate and business classes. She is the co-author of a
textbook, “ Texas Real Estate Promulgated Forms and Contracts” (2016), which is
approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission for pre-licensing instruction. She is also a
practicing real estate broker. Melissa also authored the internationally acclaimed
book, “Are You Arresting Your Blessing? Are You Waiting on God or Is God Waiting on
You?”, which is now on six continents. Melissa recently founded “5-Star Empowerment”-
a consulting and coaching business- designed to equip and empower 21 century
