Introducing Operation Mordecai
T he threat to Israel from Iran has never been greater.
Every week, CUFI UK observes the Iranian regime’s tightening grip on the Middle
East, from an emboldened presence at Israel’s northern border with Syria and Lebanon, to channelling resources to terror groups in Gaza and beyond.
Further to this, the Iranian leaders’ persistent anti-Semitic rhetoric against the Jewish state is a continual reminder that Iran’s goal is the annihilation of Israel. Their breach of the failed Iran deal and development of nuclear-capable missiles stands as a warning to many gullible Western politicians that remain in denial of this threat. Let’s be clear, when verbal threats are met with sinister actions the world must wake up. Israel is well aware of this threat and rightly takes it seriously.
Meanwhile, Iran continues to oppress its own people, many of whom do not agree with the regime, with Christians and Jews among the minorities at greatest risk.
It is for these reasons that Christians United for Israel has decided to take action by launching ‘Operation Mordecai’.
This on-going campaign takes inspiration from the Biblical account of Queen Esther’s cousin, Mordecai, who heard of the horrific plot to annihilate the Jews living in Persia (which includes modern-day Iran). Upon hearing of

the threat, Mordecai humbled himself before the Lord and took decisive action. It was Mordecai that told Esther, “Yet who knows whether you have come
to the kingdom for such a time as this?” We can be assured that the Lord watches over Israel. But what is our response as Christians to this threat? Which side will the United Kingdom take? Who will defend Israel and the Jewish people? Who will speak out for Iran’s persecuted Christians, for its Jewish minority and others in Iran that have no voice? For this cause we have determined not to remain silent. Nor will we be spectators as the UK and other nations ignore the seriousness of the Iranian threat. Instead, our passion is for Britain to be on the right side of history
and align itself with Israel.
Like, Mordecai, CUFI has heeded
the warning from Iran; we have sought the Lord and have decided to take action. Through ‘Operation Mordecai’ we will be speaking truth to power and calling upon our leaders to resist the wiles of Iran and stand up for righteousness.
