for each cleaning after. If you are on a budget and your grown children are struggling with what to get you for your birthday or for Christmas, ask them
to chip in on the house cleaner. It’s not an exciting gift, but it’s very practical.

which are also negotiable.
Our cleaner, after the
thorough first scrubbing, asked us for our priorities. She asked where we want her and her cleaning crew to focus their efforts for the hour and a half to two
hours they are at the house. It was easy for us: dusting, baseboards, window sills, blinds, the kitchen, and bathrooms. Yes, they also sweep, vacuum, and clean the wood floors, but we do that between visits as
well as part of our normal cleaning routine. But that other stuff? Please.
Seniors, in general, would prefer to live as independently as possible. Again, there is always the tension between the need, the want, and the budget. Realistically, if you have trouble tying your shoes,
how much time are you going to spend cleaning out corners and wiping down baseboards? At some point for seniors, a house cleaner can mean the difference between living independently at home and
moving to a managed community. A clean home is not only safer and healthier for you, it protects your most valuable tangible asset. L
