Chapter History Under the leadership of the Immediate Past Chapter President, KaShauna Spratley, the chapter has won numerous awards and recognition for our programming, implementation of the sorority’s projects and use of technology to enhance our programs, projects and social media presence. One of our most memorable achievements was receiving the National Outstanding Chapter Award (2017-18), National Outstanding Chapter President (2017-2018), and the National Youth Literary Award (2017-18), at our 90th Anniversary Convention in Shreveport, Louisiana in July 2019. At the 82nd Eastern Regional Conference (2019) in Alexandria, VA, the chapter won the 1st place award for Youth, High School Essay Winner (FIL Cayedon Jones), 2nd place award for Chapter Achievement and recognition for submission of an Outstanding Soror of the Year and Outstanding Business Woman of the Year.. At the 81st Eastern Regional Conference (2018) in Glen Allen, VA, the chapter won the 2nd place award for Youth, 2nd place award for Chapter Achievement, and the Soror KaShauna Spratley won the Outstanding Chapter President Award. Soror Catherine Winston received her 40 years of service pin and certificate, and Sorors Pamela Barber, Montrose Cones, Tracey Cones-Renshaw, and KaShauna Spratley received their 10 year pins and certificates. Sorors KaShauna Spratley and Catherine Winston received Service Awards for their service to the Eastern Region serving on the executive committee. At the 80th Eastern Regional Conference (2017) in Windsor Locks, CT, the chapter won the 1st place award for Youth, 2nd place award for Chapter Achievement, Anna J. Steen Eastern Region Scholarship Winner (Justice Gilliam), and the Eastern Region Outstanding Soror of the Year was awarded to KaShauna Spratley. At the 79th Eastern Regional Conference (2016) in Hampton, VA, the 2nd place award for Chapter Growth and Chapter Achievement, and the 3rd place award for Youth. At the 78th Eastern Regional Conference (2015) in Norfolk, VA the chapter won the 3rd place award for Chapter Growth and Chapter Achievement. At the 71st Eastern Regional Conference (2008) in Buffalo, NY the chapter won the 1st place award for Chapter Attendance; and Sorors Sandra Pugh and KaShauna Spratley received certificates of recognition for being presenters during the business workshop.
