For our colleagues in other public-sector labor unions, we do need to support them because the forces against pub- lic-sector workers, including the uniformed services, are seek- ing to seriously minimize our strength and ability to negotiate for the employees we represent. We all need to stand together
to protect our common interest in fair wages, hours and work- ing conditions. Without such support, all public-sector unions will have a harder time keeping their memberships together. This will become even more important because there will be even more new laws coming and new support for the forces against public-sector unions. d
