Offificers help local kids kick off new school year
4th District
As part of the Boys and Girls Club’s career week, 20th District officers pitched in to help with
food and distribute backpacks to students, making sure they were ready to go for their first
day.
In preparation for the new academic year, officers in the 4th District helped distribute school supplies to area children at Mann Academy. Officers also participated in similar events at Bessemer Park and Taylor School.

With summer winding down, going back to school isn’t always the most popular subject to talk about with kids around Chicago. To help build some excitement and give back to the community, countless Police Officers across the City spent time at events designed to get kids ready by providing them with needed supplies while also having a little fun with games, food and activities.
