As law enforcement professionals, we must realize verbal com- munication is a critical tool. Personal and work-related stressors should constructively be addressed through communication. Once critical dialogue is started, the likelihood of personal stress reduction is possible. Taking the myth of “complexity” out of how to communicate with others effectively is the first step toward an everyday application of this concept. We hope that this model offers a new perspective on utilizing communication in an effective man- ner and provides you with an additional outlet for personal and pro- fessional stress relief.
