EAP officer wellness roll call training
Dues increase notice
Lodge 7 membership
dues have gone up by $3 per paycheck.
During National Police Week (May 13-19), the Professional Counseling Di- vision/Employee Assistance Program (EAP) began proactively conducting citywide EAP/Officer Wellness roll call training. Peer support members are meeting with officers in every district and unit.
New EAP and Peer Support bro- chures and posters have been de- signed for disseminating and posting throughout the Department. This is the EAP’s effort to ensure that officers are aware of the various services pro- vided by EAP, and who their peer sup- port members are. (A list of active peer support members can be accessed on the Peer Support link, via the EAP web- site, located on The WIRE.
As of June 1, peer support members have conducted more than 50 roll- call trainings in various districts and units and on various watches. These trainings will continue throughout the month of June, to ensure that EAP reaches a maximum number of police
officers. If peer support members have yet to make it to your district or unit, feel free to contact the Program Man- ager Officer David Saucedo to schedule roll call training. He can be reached at 312-672-9973 or david.saucedo@chi- cagopolice.org.
Remember, peer support members are your friends and colleagues. They are available 24 hours a day to provide you with guidance, compassion and a listening ear. They can also help put you in touch with a clinician or coun- selor, who can provide more direct as- sistance when needed.
EAP is available 24 hours a day and can be reached at 312-743-0378. The services offered by EAP are confiden- tial, free and available to both sworn and civilian Department members, ac- tive and retired, as well as their imme- diate family members.
