Meet Derec Moore. The photograph here shows Derec drop- ping the puck for the honorary faceoff before the Chicago Wolves game against the Rockford IceHogs on March 17. On this Saturday night and the next afternoon, the Wolves hosted Eas- terseals Chicago and its sponsors, including the Chicago FOP, in the lavish Jack Daniels Suite of Allstate Arena to thank them for what they are making possible.

pus on Chicago’s near west side, Lodge 7 members are making Derec Moore’s success story possible. Derec has been an Easter- seals student for 10 years, and his dropping the puck alongside his mom, Pleshette Davis, shows what is possible when Chica- go Police Officers do what they do best: give it up for the kids, especially the Easterseals kids who are thriving despite autism spectrum disorder that affects one in 45 children.
“Thank you, FOP, for being a blessing to my family and giving us peace,” Davis reflects. “Without you people giving to Easter- seals, I don’t know where my son would be. We’re so grateful we have people like the FOP because the kids really need it, and it’s not something they can get somewhere else.”
