politicians trying to cover their own rear ends from closing police stations and detective areas and re- ducing the police force by a thousand officers, and now has a city that is out of control with shootings and homicides. It is also interesting that all of this anti-police rhetoric is gearing up even more just as our current collective bargaining agreement with the City expires on July 1. I’m sure it is only a coin- cidence in the timing and the indictment of three Chicago Police Officers that came down on June 27.
After reading the complaint/indictment of the three, it would appear that they are guilty of noth- ing more than writing a police report the special prosecutor doesn’t like. Or perhaps the special prosecutor is not smart enough to understand how a police report is prepared. Consequently, the prosecutor comes along and says that the officers “lied on the report,” which is absolutely untrue. The special prosecutor also stated that this was the result of the “Code of Silence.” After reading that, I decided that I have little faith in the special prosecutor. This makes it virtually certain that she

cannot prove any of the allegations against the three officers.
Brothers and sisters, we are now facing some of our greatest enemies who want to destroy Police Officers and the good intentions, dedication and integrity that we give to the City each and every day. I need every single member of Chicago Lodge 7, both active and retired, to be ready to fight the lies and the rhetoric that are attacking the most honored protectors in our society, our Chicago Po- lice Officers. d
