The Chicago Lodge 7 Gift Shop is a great place for Easterseals kids like Michael to gain valuable em-
ployment experience by taking on day-to-day tasks in the store. Michael began attending the Easterseals Academy in 2007. Now, he works at the FOP Gift Shop once a week where he helps fold shirts and price merchandise. He has been working at the FOP Gift Shop since 2015 and is hap- py to be able to continue his employment there.
When Easterseals, which is the national charity of the FOP, creates employment partnerships for its transition- aged students, the goal is for the individuals to be able to continue their jobs after graduation. Michael and his family are happy to have had such a great relationship with the FOP and the Easterseals throughout this experi- ence which has allowed Michael to continue employment at the Gift Shop.
Michael has also been able to further his relationship with Easterseals as an employee for HarrysButtons.com. At this job, Michael does everything from making buttons to operating a heat press machine for graphics transfers and data entry.
The support Michael has received from Chicago Lodge 7 and the FOP Gift Shop working through Easterseals has made a meaningful impact on his life and has given him confidence as he pursues other employment opportuni- ties. d

SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
The Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Society was formed in 1982 to Honor Police Officers killed in the line duty. Since then, we have performed over 150 Honor Ceremonies of our Fallen.
The Band will hold an Orientation Meeting at the Chicago Police Academy - 1300 West Jackson Blvd. - Chicago, IL on Thursday, 09 February, 2017 at 1900 hours. This meeting is for Law Enforcement Officers interested in joining the band to play the Bagpipes, Drums or to become a member of our Color Guard Unit.
