Honoring Our Heroes
   For Ella
Sister Ella French will live on in so many ways. Her many friends and colleagues on the job will be inspired to carry on her loving and caring for the community. The Department will celebrate her as the consummate professional, the type of officer who is the future of Chicago policing. The City will hopefully make a renewed commitment to safety and unity in her honor.

For Carlos
The term “Carlos Strong” will become a rallying cry for the Department, the City and anyone who has the good fortune to encounter Offi- cer Carlos Yanez Jr. Those who have worked with him and know him celebrate Carlos as somebody so strong that “he can achieve any- thing he puts his mind to.”
   For Josh
Joshua Blas will always be celebrated for his actions to take out the shooter who killed his best friend and police soulmate and severely wounded his other partner. As officers from throughout the Department put their col- lective arms around him, Josh will forever be showered with love.
