On Oct. 27, 2019, Officers Monahan, Escalante, Bardsley and Pawlowski were on scene at a convention in McCormick Place when a man collapsed. The man, Daniel Button, struck his head as he fell to the floor and began having seizures. The officers took quick action, placing support under the victim’s head and a tourniquet rod in his mouth to keep him from bit- ing his tongue. The officers then stabilized him for the CFD’s
arrival. Seattle Police Officer Tyler Verhaar also assisted. Due to the officers’ quick response, injuries to citizens were min- imized.
