Portraits by Peter Bucks
Tributes to officers from the CPD Officer, Lodge 7 member and renowned artist
A Thank-You note
I would like to thank Chicago Lodge 7 President Dean Angelo, all of his staff and all of our members for showcasing the Horses of Honor project I have been involved with during the past year on the cover of our inaugural Lodge 7 Magazine. I would also like to thank Mitchell
Krugel for writing the article. It has really been a great experience that allowed me to portray memorial works of art for our fallen officers, and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity.
In future editions of the magazine, I would like to showcase an officer every month to pay tribute to our active and retired officers that have served our City and cast a positive light on all of our members for the day-to-day work we do, and have done.
Thank you,
Pete Bucks
Robert Anderson Star 14369 Peter’s tribute is to the retired officer, who worked 34 years in a beat car patrolling Districts 15, 13, 20, 17 and 16. He retired in March 2004, and did a tour with the Aviation Police. Now at age 69, he is enjoying life. “It went by fast. That’s when we were the police,” he says. “Today, I feel for these guys. I did my thing. I’m a survivor.” Prior to joining the department, Robert spent four years in the Marine Corps and did a tour in Vietnam. The Anderson legacy continues in the Department. His daughter, Michelle Camarillo, has been on the job for 16 years.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
To ALL
I’ve been around for a long time and through many administrations. By far this administration is the best.
What better way to show my gratitude than this token of appreciation.
Sincerely, Joe Shaw
