CPD Family Member Seeks Files, Photographs, and Memories for Book Project
Please share your memories with me!
I am a researcher/writer working on several historical CPD projects. My father, Howard Roos, Star #3680, was a 1960s Detective at Area 5 Homicide and Area 6 Robbery. Later he worked as Chief Investigator for Charles Siragusa at the Illinois Crime Commission.
I started researching his story several years ago, and that effort opened the door to many other great stories. I would like to document these stories with historical materi- als before they are lost and end up in a dumpster or, like my father’s les – ruined in a basement ood.
My best research results have come from former police of cers who have kept records and photographs of special interest to them. I am asking for help from members with obtaining les, photographs, old Daily Bulletins, whatever may be stashed away in an attic, closet, or basement concerning cases and individuals from the 1940s through the 1970s.
Thanks for your help! Michael Roos miker re@gmail.com
