Spring budget falls behind
As I write this, the Illinois Legislature is wind- ing down its scheduled spring session, which is set to end on May 31. The chances look dim for a grand bargain to solve the overall budget problems. Both sides continue discussions with several small groups of legislators at- tempting to find middle ground. Success, at this point, does not appear to be coming any time soon.
