"The DePaul name truly means something to these officers.”

tration in public safety and security management: DePaul’s School for New Learning will offer an accelerated undergrad- uate degree completion program in the area of public safety and security management. This specialized curriculum inte- grates the core academic curriculum with relevant, real-world experiences for law enforcement and public safety officials who are looking to complete their bachelor’s degree at DePaul. This program will be offered on-site at the Chicago Police Academy and at DePaul’s Loop Campus.
• Master of Management in DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, which does not require the GMAT entrance exam;
• Master of Jurisprudence through DePaul’s College of Law, which will not require the LSAT entrance exam;
Master of Management in Business (MSM): Through the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business Master of Science in management program, students will develop the managerial skills necessary to advance as leaders in the private or public sector. They’ll gain a thorough understanding of management theory and techniques and learn how to apply them through hands-on learning experiences. Specialized classes for this cohort will include: Emergency Management and Planning, Private Security Management and Strategic Planning for Public Safety Organizations. This program will be offered on- site at the Chicago Police Academy. (Special note: this program does not require the GMAT entrance exam.)
• Doctorate of Education in educational leadership through the School of Education.
“We are thrilled to be launching this partnership and wel- coming members of the Fraternal Order of Police to DePaul. We have served a number of Chicago Police officers every year throughout our undergraduate and graduate degree programs, however, this collaboration seems to be a wonderful opportunity to customize our degree programs to the interests and career goals of the officers and members of the FOP,” Depeder added.
“We have been working with the leadership of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Chicago Police Department over the last year to understand the personal and professional goals of these officers – we wanted our degree programs to help these men and women reach their fullest potential,” she continued. “What we heard in our initial conversations with officers is that they have very ambitious career goals and want to take advan- tage of every opportunity to grow professionally – particularly as it relates to finishing degrees or working toward advanced degrees. It’s exciting to hear them talk about what might be possible beyond their years on the police force.”
Master of Jurisprudence (MJ): DePaul’s master of jurispru- dence program is a versatile degree specifically designed for professionals who do not seek to practice law, but who regularly encounter legal issues in their work and/or would benefit from a sophisticated and nuanced understanding of legal reasoning and doctrine. This degree is valuable for indi- viduals seeking careers in health care, compliance, contract analysis, technology and government. This program is offered at DePaul’s Loop Campus. (Special note: this program does not require the LSAT entrance exam.)
For the three degree programs offered at the Chicago Police Academy, officers will have opportunity to learn, solve prob- lems and build relationships together through DePaul’s cohort format. Joining a cohort means being part of a group or team of classmates who typically have varying academic back- grounds and levels of experiences but who share similar goals and are willing to work together and support one another throughout the degree program. At DePaul:
Doctorate of Education (EdD): The Educational Leadership doctoral program provides a rich knowledge base to analyze administrative practices and promote socially-just leadership of schools and organizations with an educational purpose. This program will be offered on-site at the Chicago Police Academy.
