Cops in the Community
No matter where you turn in the city, Chicago Police Officers can be found showing their appreciation for oth- ers. They might be visiting with children to help them feel special or stopping at a local business to offer a little support during a challenging year, but it’s always about making connections in the community.

  24th District
On a sunny Veterans Day, 18th District officers traveled through the com- munity to salute veteran military members who served our country. The of- ficers expressed their thanks and praise and even gave the servicemembers a small gift of appreciation.
One of the benefits of working foot patrol is building relationships with those on the beat. In the 20th District, officers took a moment to visit with the owners of a business that has been around for four decades in the Lin- coln District.
There is perhaps no better way to show respect and appreciation for some- one else than by helping them out in a tough spot — and that’s just what 2nd District Officers Jonathan Landingham and Eric Myers did. The pair en- countered a resident with a flat tire, so they decided to change it for the driver in a true act of going beyond the call.
In the 24th District, “Time with Tact” means tactical officers stopping by Centro Romero to deliver food and offer some mentorship to youngsters.
